I quite liked the design of "Bompers". While the two predecessor slots "Cygnus“ and “IO” bring a more cosmic touch, this time ELK relies on a kind of pinball machine with many colorful balls with different symbols in the middle. Even at first glance it is noticeable that there are no classic reels in this game that you have to set in motion. Thus, the classic slot character does not come into its own quite as well, but that seems to be exactly the purpose of this game. The design is extremely colorful and thus entertains the eye while playing. What you can expect from a good slot. The selected background music is also innovative, and it really stands out from many other games of this kind. It's still relatively tranquil at the beginning, but in the course of a successful game you can also look forward to powerful dubstep elements that really go into your ear. Younger players in particular should have lots of fun with "Bompers".

Gameplay

As already mentioned, "Bompers" does not come with the classic design of a slot. Without having played the game once, it is therefore not that easy to explain its principle. To put it simply, 24 symbols fall into a 6×4 grid with every spin, the individual columns of which are not aligned, but arranged in an offset manner. The balls fall randomly either on the left or on the right side of the playing field. The aim of the game is to collect at least three identical symbols on a payline in order to win money. The game starts with 4.096 possible combinations. However, these can increase to an impressive 262.144 lines over the course of the game. As soon as you have achieved a winning combination, the associated marbles disappear from the field so that new marbles can move up from above. Which of course, with a bit of luck, will also trigger a profit again. The more wins you make, the more paylines will be unlocked. And the more paylines unlocked, the higher your chances of winning.

Of course, not all balls in the game have the same value. Unfortunately, cherries, lemons, oranges and watermelons only represent the relatively small winnings. While the shamrock, horseshoe and BAR logo are already a little more valuable. However, the most important symbol in the game is the undefeated red seven. It pays out 5 times the previous bet for a 3-fold formation on a payline and even 6 times the bet for a 10-fold formation on a payline.

The eponymous bombers are a special kind of wild symbols, which can land on the playing field again and again within the game. When nudged by other symbols, they fill a special Bompers meter. If this meter is completely filled, the respective bomber on the playing field turns into a sticky wild symbol, which remains stuck in its position and thus offers further chances of winning.

Mystery bombers and shooting stars

In parallel to the classic bombers, there are also the so-called mystery bombers. These special symbols are capable of exploding at the end of a spin. This process in turn causes all other symbols in the surrounding area to transform into the same symbol. Which can create additional winning combinations. The shooting star symbol, however, takes a different approach. This can shoot up and form a group of symbols. At least three of these symbols are Wild symbols.

Above all, the mystery bombers and the shooting stars shooting upwards are to be named as a very clear highlight. In my opinion, the maximum win of 5.000 times the stake is also impressive. Only the payout ratio is a bit too low at 95,8%.
